The path we used to walk

As a gift for Christmas and as a remembrance of my father, I decided to make a painting for my mum. After thinking about the subject for only a second we came up with a place in Austria she loved to visit, when my dad was still alive. And then especially an area high up in the mountains near Mittersill. There is this beautiful scenery, with snowy mountains, old pine trees, lush grassy green fields and a crystal clear lake. Well worth a visit I would say. And for my mum, she was delighted and had tears in her eyes, when seeing the finished painting. Especially, cherishing and remembering warm memories of when she was there with my dad.

This oil painting is called “The path we used to walk”. It has an acrylic under-layer which has been painted over with multiple layers of Cobra Artist Quality water-based oil paint and applied on a wooden panel (60 x 80 cm). Placed in a wooden style frame. Year 2022.
